About Camille

Camille McCawley is a Sheffield based spoken word poet. She is a Slam of the North slam champion 2019 and came second at Hammer and Tongue Cambridge slam three times. She has featured at numerous events and festivals across the country and has supported Matt Abbott. She was on the University of Sheffield Poetry Society committee in 2018 and coached their UniSlam team two years in a row. Struggling on a low income and suffering from depression and anxiety, Camille was frustrated with the lack of affordable professional support for those new to spoken word so she decided to do something about it. Earlier this year she successfully received funding from Arts Council England to organise and attend a free poetry development programme for new poets aged 30+ years (Wise Talk). She aims to make Wise Talk a Community Interest Company where she can create more spoken word opportunities for others in need.

Bringing together a vibrant community of talented people, combined with great ideas, in a show-stopping place.

Located at Castle House, in the heart of Sheffield's historic city centre, Kollider is your new destination to work, host, socialise and play.
