Team Kurious has spent most of lockdown plotting gloom-busting initiatives via Zoom, in between regular trips to the fridge & a few wood-based walks. Our main mission is to help you stay creative & connected throughout the crisis by offering daily boosts & a whole host of things to look forward to. Starting with three brand-spanking new competitions:

Novel - we're looking for finished novels of 60K+ words to publish via Kurious Press - our professional in-house publishing team.

Short Film - we are commissioning & producing three short films (max 10 mins, single location)

Podcast - we're on the hunt for one original podcast series of 8 episodes, which we'll commission & produce.

All competitions are £5 to enter, with all proceeds going to the South Yorkshire Creatives Hardship Fund. Deadline is the 31st May 2020.

Need something more immediate?

Right well, there's always The Kurious Quarantine Challenge: a series of daily creative prompts which you can find on Instagram & Twitter. The idea is to offer a spot of structure & get the creative juices juicing. We publish our favourite entries regularly on the Kurious Blog, and will be dishing out £100 worth of La Biblioteka vouchers worth of prizes along the way. Here are some samples:

Oh and if you feel like chatting to other creatives about what you're working on, how you're feeling & maybe set some weekly targets we'd love to see you at The Virtual Writers Cafe which is free & takes places every wednesday.
